I'm going to kill Newton

well...I would...if he wasn't already dead...I spent a good 4 1/2 hours reading physics stuff for my MCAT class (this is after a full day of work and two hours of teaching, mind you) and I still didn't get all of it done so I woke up early this morning to finish it before work so I got about 5-ish hours of sleep. all so that I could get it all done before class tonight at 6. so long story short, I'm going to kill Newton. except his being dead ruins my plan. BUT, if he happens to be in heaven and I eventually get there, I'll kill him again :)

everything's changing

well, there have been or will be a lot of changes to my life in the next couple of months. as most of you already know, the biggest change is that I'm going to be getting married to a wonderful gal. the date is set for june 2, 2007 in olathe so you may want to mark your calendars for that day. that's just change in my personal life. in my professional life, I've started taking an MCAT prep course (the Kaplan one). it's very organized and methodical which I really like. unfortunately, there's a lot of time commitment involved in it. it's 3 hours twice a week and then occasional mock full 8-hour MCAT practices. and that's not including the time I have to spend studying for the 3 hour classes. we're also changing to new machines at work too so this weekend, we get to spend doing an in-service type of thing. we basically start on saturday after closing and clean the old machines till who-knows-when. then on sunday, we get to come back at 7:30 AM until 5:00 PM to learn to use the new machines so that they can be used that monday. we're also changing a couple of technical things at work. oh yeah, I've also been moved from the donor floor to the reception floor. that was quite a surprise coming back from my little christmas vacation. it looks like I'll be there for awhile too which is nice because it's a LOT less stressful and you get out on a set schedule unlike the donor floor where you get off whenever the last donor gets done. the last and final change (as of right now at least), I found out about tonight. it looks like the school that I volunteer and teach for is changing their name and joining a franchise or something so I've got to learn a WHOLE lot of new things so I can teach the classes properly. that's also going to be time-consuming. it looks like I also have to go to a certification program in washington in march. on the bright side, it looks like the school is paying for the flight and meals and the hotel. so bascially, when I'm not at work, or studying for the MCAT, or doing stuff for my class, I'm working on wedding details. *sigh* one of these days, I'll have free time again...

better days

well, just got back from Olathe about two hours ago. yesterday, andrea and some friends planned a surprise birthday party for me which was really fun. we did a murder mystery thing and it turned out that Amanda did it...again. shannon and nicole and nette and chris showed up which made it even more fun since I know they had a pretty long drive to get there.

on to other things. I've been trying to download this song by the goo goo dolls called better days for two days now and it turns out that my DRM file was corrupted so I've been fixing that this morning (it took quite a while considering I didn't even know my comp had a DRM extension prior to this morning). well, long story short, it's fixed and my song is downloaded. most definitely worth the trouble though. the song is really good and upbeat. if you have time, you may want to listen to it. you can listen to it here at http://www.artistdirect.com. the song is called 'better days'. you can also watch the video which is quite good. here are some of the lyrics:

And you ask me what I want this year
And I try to make this kind and clear
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days
Cuz I don't need boxes wrapped in strings
And desire and love and empty things
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days

well, now I'm off to hack at things in guantlet which shannon, nicole, nette, and chris gave me for my b-day present.
